Project Objective(s): To reduce the prevalence of anemia by at least 10% among children aged 6-59 months
Expected outcomes from the project: The overall aim of this project is to reduce prevalence of anaemia by at least 10% among children 6-59 months in Bangladesh by reaching 4 million children along with 1 million effectively covered over the period of 5 years
Expected outputs from the project: 1. National policies, regulations and relevant guidelines exist and/or are amended to enable home fortification as a key strategy to fill in the nutrient gap in IYC diets and/or reduce child malnutrition 2. There is enhanced consumer and intermediary organisations' (doctors, NGOs, civil society, community leaders, etc.) knowledge of and interest in home fortification and infant feeding practices 3. Government’s knowledge, support and ownership for home fortification has increased and allows use of MNP as part of the public delivery channel in addition to marked-based delivery channels 4. The market is enlarged for MNPs, and is more coherent on pricing and offering 5. Global agenda informed by evidence generated by the project (HFTAG) 6. Perception of use of MNP from treatment to prevention shifted (along the continuum of care) 7. Front-line health workers known as Shasthya Shebikas (SS) of BRAC are received necessary skill and capacity on IYCF with home fortification and promoting adequate utilization and compliance of MNPs in households; and ensuring monitoring/ compliance of MNP 5 usage.

Project Objective(s): An assessment of the facilities available to monitor the quality and specifications to support rice fortification – Scaling up Rice Fortification Initiative
Expected outcomes from the project: a. Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current regulatory, monitoring and production mechanism for fortified rice in Bangladesh, and b. Consider how they can be improved to scale up the production, commercialization and distribution of fortified rice

Project Objective(s): To contribute to the reduction in prevalence of vitamin-A deficiency in the population of Bangladesh through consumption of vitamin A fortified edible oil. This will contribute to progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Seventh Five Year Plan FY2016-FY2020 through contributing to reducing the Under-five Mortality Rate and Maternal Mortality Ratio.
Expected outcomes from the project: • Fortify 100% refined edible palm, soybean and rice bran oil in the country within the acceptable range as per the standard to reach all of the population especially among children age 6-59 months, girls age 5-14 years and women of reproductive age. • Strengthen the capacity of project implementing partners like Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), Project Management Unit (PMU) of Ministry of Industries (MoI), Oil Refineries and other stakeholders • Awareness building among mass people on the benefits of using fortified oil through workshops, seminars and campaign. • Find way out of drum tractability in order ensure the supply of fortified edible oil to the consumer.
Expected outputs from the project: • Knowledge and capacity development of PMU under MOInd to manage fortification program including MIS • Capacity development among industry on fortification including QA/QC • Value chain map of open oil producers to ensure mandatory fortification of bulk oil • Knowledge and capacity among stakeholders of compliance monitoring and enforcement methods increased • Awareness raising among civil society increased to inform the public on benefits of fortified oil

Project Objective(s): The overall objective is to contribute to improved maternal and child nutrition in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The project has two specific objectives: a. to create an enabling environment for improved and sustained pro-poor nutrition security service delivery and awareness will address the institutional determinants of undernutrition in the CHT which include the political and policy framework for nutrition, and the coordination and service delivery structures; b. Specific Objective-2: to improve smallholder farmer and micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) friendly value chains through scalable innovations to increase availability and consumption of diversified, safe and nutritious food will address the demand and supply determinants of undernutrition in the CHT.

Many local, national and international Institutes work in the nutrition sector throughout Bangladesh. Every organization has their own goals and objectives but the prime aim of all is to improve the nutrition scenario of the country. Often it is found some lacking in coordination among GO-NGO, NGO-NGO that hamper program result, under-utilization of valuable resources, duplications, missed opportunity to synergize and to learn from each others and so on. For better coordination, there must first be more sharing among the organizations and in doing so an online platform is undoubtedly a great choice. This website provides a scope to know about the nutrition related works of Institutes in Bangladesh. This is developed with the hope for better coordination of nutrition related works among government, Institutes, UN bodies and others.
